Professional Development
MACAE participates in the Michigan Department of Education’s State Board Continuing Education Unit (SB-CEU) Program to bring professional development services to its members. MACAE is an Approved Sponsor of SB-CEUs, which are credits used for the renewal of some certificates issued by the Michigan Department of Education. The Professional Education Certificate, the Occupation Education Certificate, and the School of Psychologist Certificate all require certificate renewal every 5 years. School Administrators need 18 SB-CEUs or 6 semester hours, or a combination of both every 5 years. MACAE offers SB-CEUs through its Focus Groups, workshops, and conferences and is committed to the professional development of its members to promote the strengthening of families and communities.
