Enrichment/Recreation

 
 

Enrichment, Recreation and After School programs serve students of all ages, fostering the importance of lifelong learning and keeping physically and mentally active and engaged in community life. The only limit to program offerings is the imagination! Programs are kept local, conveniently scheduled, and affordable so all members of the community can participate. From music, dancing and sports, to tutoring, foreign languages and travel, the options are endless.

Professional dimensions include teaching and certification; coaching; building, grounds and recreational facilities management; food safety; fingerprinting and screening; scheduling and registration; licensing and regulations; community relations; special events and fundraising; crisis management; contractual, leasing and other legal issues; pricing and marketing; as well as staffing.

  1. Training and professional development as identified by leaders in the field,
  2. 2. The Enrichment, Recreation and After School Focus Group, an ongoing forum for education, enrichment and recreational professionals to exchange promising practices and find solutions to shared problems,
  3. Strong grassroots advocacy and a voice before state and national policy makers in pursuit of effective policy that addresses the unique lifelong learning and recreational needs of all age groups in our communities.
  4. Timely updates on national and state policy, program requirements, funding, research and partnership opportunities, and
  5. Opportunities to meet, interact with and become leaders in their field.

The MACAE Enrichment/Recreation Education Focus Group meets each month to discuss the latest issues of our members. All enrichment and recreation education practitioners are invited to join the discussions.

  Grant Writing Workshop
Monday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Tuesday: Home Work: Teams work off-site on materials provided by the Grant Writing Network to develop an action plan based on materials presented in the first day of the workshop.
Wednesday: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
This workshop is designed to teach the process of grant writing using a systems approach. A highly qualified coach will present the various aspects of successful grant writing using a seminar format that engages the participant in the writing process from proposal idea to finished product. In addition to the hands-on workshop, each team will receive a complementary copy of the Grant Writing Network DVD “The Workshop” with their registration fee of $350. The DVD retails for $395. SB-CEUs are pending for this workshop and will be an additional $10 per person.

In these tough economic times, finding money for our programs is imperative. Now, with so many opportunities for grant money coming for educators and educational institutions, it is the perfect time to be poised with a prepared grant-writing team!
