We will highlight recent changes\, policy investments and help break down the future of adult learning in Michigan. \n  \n  \n1.0                          9:30am– 10:30am: Problem Based Learning: A Tool for Learner Success \nWhat is problem based learning? We will examine how problem based learning is being explored as an effective instructional strategy for youth and adult learners.  We will share concrete examples of how it is being utilized in practical settings. Participants will walk away with examples of how they can begin to employ problem based learning practices in their program design and instruction. \n  \nBreak                    10:30am-10:45am \n  \n1.0                          10:45am-11:45am: Getting Started with Math \nAre you looking for strategies to helping adult learners get started with math instruction for successful completion? What are some of the best ways to evaluate and help accelerate learners? This session will provide several strategies to use with math-anxious or math-frustrated students in Adult Ed. In addition it will provide practical strategies for how to organize effective strategies for instruction to help math learners.  We will share some tools for setting up your classroom instruction and organizational of units.  This presentation will help give the teacher strategies to bridge the gap. \n  \nBreak for Lunch 11:45am-12:30pm \n  \n1.0                          12:30pm-1:30pm: Igniting Change: Empowering Adult Learners as Education Advocates\nNavigating the landscape of adult education demands more than just knowledge acquisition—it demands the ability to champion one’s own learning journey. This session delves into innovative methodologies and proven strategies to empower adult learners as advocates for the very education that shapes their lives. By honing their skills in storytelling\, public speaking\, and community engagement\, adult learners can effectively advocate for resources\, support\, and policy changes that fuel the growth of adult education.
