Submit a Proposal for the 2026 Spring Institute!
MACAE is pleased to announce the Call for Presentations for the 2026 Virtual Spring Institute, taking place online April 23-24, 2026. We invite proposals for 60-minute presentations that showcase effective practices, research, tools, and strategies that improve outcomes for adult learners in Michigan.
This year, MACAE is prioritizing sessions that address one or more of the following areas of practice:
- Workforce Development & Career Pathways — job readiness, career navigation, labor market alignment, Integrated Education & Training (IET), employer partnerships, and fair-chance hiring models for returning citizens.
- Teaching & Learning Approaches — ESL and multilingual instruction, alternative education models, citizenship and civics skills, family literacy, and strategies for supporting low-level learners and learners with disabilities.
- Program Development, Funding & Policy — funding strategies for rural programs, grants and sustainability models, and data-driven program storytelling.
- Technology & Innovation — the use of AI in education, digital skill development, and efforts to bridge the digital divide for adult learners.
- Community & Student Engagement — community partnerships, mentorship and peer-support structures, re-entry supports for returning citizens, and approaches for reducing barriers to participation.
Eligible presenters include practitioners, program administrators, researchers, employers, policymakers, and community partners engaged in adult, community, or alternative education. Proposals should clearly describe the session purpose, target audience, and key takeaways that participants can apply in their work.
Submission Deadline: March 20, 2026.
