SP1:Positioning MACAE through advocacy and education as the recognized Association in the State for Adult/Alternative, Community and Workforce Education. SP1.1: MACAE will expand its reach with organizations at a state or national level that aligns with our mission and vision to expand funding, strengthen policy, and share data. SP1.1A: MACAE will actively engage in partnerships with at least two state or national organizations that align with and support MACAE’s mission and vision. Each partnership will result in at least one joint funding, policy, or data development initiative (Michigan’s Children, MAEO, MiLeap, MLPP, NLCF, Foundation). June 30, 2026 Executive Director
    SP1.1B: MACAE will continuously review state and national policies (WIOA Plan) and initiatives to support the field in best practices in adult, community, and alternative education. Ongoing Executive Director & Board of Directors
  SP1.2: Have an Advisory Council composed of organizations around the state that are connected to MACAE’s Vision and Mission to expand funding, strengthen policy, and share data. SP1.2: MACAE Leadership will develop the structure of the advisory council and recruit member organizations (Survey possible members- LEO, MILeap, Global Michigan, Apprenticeships, MDE (Rachelle), MWA, MCAN, MAEO, MDOC).   SP1.3: Provide an advocacy plan for MACAE members to support MACAE’s Vision and Mission to expand funding, strengthen policy, and share data. SP1.3: MACAE will annually update the 18-month advocacy calendar. Annually Advocacy Committee
SP2: Focus on Data and Resources to support the field. SP2.1: MACAE will continue redesign to the website system and launch changes to stakeholders around the state. SP2.1A: MACAE will develop and implement a resource link to support the field with links to research, best practices, federal and state initiatives, communication and marketing tools for programs.     SP2.1B: MACAE will update Advocacy Link to house advocacy tools, information, calendar, etc. June 30, 2026 Executive Director
    SP2.1C: MACAE will compile a resource link with different webtools, and system tutorials, for members to access (CASAS Training, MAERS Training, Burlington Training, NEXSYS, etc.). June 30, 2027 Executive Director & Board of Directors
  SP2.2: MACAE will create space to share professional learning and data to support members across the state by uploading tutorials, resources, toolkits, etc. SP2.2: MACAE will continue to prioritize data-driven decision-making by using insights from committees, the state office, and other credible sources as the basis for creating newsletters, white papers, and advocacy templates (IELCE White Paper). SP3: Sustainability through a diverse funding stream. SP3.1: MACAE will determine future gaps and needs for growth of the association. SP3.1: MACAE will explore grants, sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and follow legislative funding opportunities that allow for new non-discretionary funding streams for the association and its members.   SP3.2: MACAE will explore grants, sponsorships, strategic partnerships, and follow legislative funding opportunities that allow for new non-discretionary funding streams for the association and its members.
